Dr. Zeynab Shafe has been a dentist since 1999. She started her university education in Oslo, the capital city of the Northern European country of Norway, in 1991. In 1994 she commenced her dental education in Bergen, Norway, completing her degree in 1999. She ran her private dental office in Bergen from 2002 until 2013. During that time, she also taught for 3 years at the University of Bergen in the periodontology (gum disease) department. Dr. Shafe balanced her practice and teaching in Bergen until 2013/14, when she moved to Canada. She obtained her Canadian dental certification in 2016.
Dr. Shafe opened her first Canadian dental office (Nordic Dentistry) in Kitchener, Ontario in 2018. She successfully ran her practice for about 5 years, until she moved her practice to Richmond Hill (10200 Yonge Street) to be closer to her family.She recently completed the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario’s Quality Assurance Program, and passed with high marks that surpassed the average score. She frequently attends continuing education programs in person and online in order to stay updated on the newest methods and materials in the dental industry.Dr. Shafe is passionate about her work and enjoys helping people. She has long experience with patients with Odontophobia (fear from dental work), which informs her calm and friendly approach, as well as the atmosphere in her office. Dr. Shafe uses her multicultural experience to improve the community that she lives in. She celebrates diversity and has zero tolerance for racism or bigotry. Having lived and studied in Norway since she was 18 years, Dr. Shafe speaks and understands Scandinavian languages, in addition to Farsi and English.Dr. Shafe enjoys being a mom two daughters, the oldest practicing as a lawyer and the youngest poised to graduate soon with exceptional grades and achievements from a Toronto university undergraduate program. Dr. Shafe enjoys spending time in nature, attending cultural events, and exploring Canada with her husband.
